2018 Cancer Care Day Results

Miller Plant Farm, York, PA was host to the 2nd Annual Cancer Care Day at Miller Plant Farm on Saturday, August 4, 2018. It was a huge success. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Patient Help Fund at WellSpan’s York Cancer Care Center at Apple Hill.

The event was made possible by generous donations from local community members and businesses, countless volunteers, friends, and family.

The day’s festivities began with the 2nd Annual Farm Fresh 5K. Dustyn Miller, 5th Generation Farmer at Miller Plant Farm, welcomed race goers by saying “this event has even more meaning this year” and went on to share the passing of his mother, Diane Miller, after her 3 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer, just 6 weeks prior. In lieu of the traditional moment of silence, he requested all race participants cheer and give a round of applause for everyone they knew who was affected by cancer.

Second place Dylan Ackerman of York with a time of 21:23 and Thomas Urrunaga, also of York, third with a time of 21:34. Thanks to all of the generous donors in our community who provided such exciting raffle items.
